Ogden Avalanche
The challenging and diverse snow climate of the Northern Wasatch and surrounding ranges, paired with the location of the Ogden Mountains, Utah, has presented challenges and limitations for state-wide forecasting operations. Ogden Avalanche was born in 2016 out of a need for accurate snow and avalanche information in the Morgan and Ogden Valleys. Unlike other government funded centers, Ogden Avalanche was started by volunteer forecasters and avid backcountry users, issuing avalanche and weather information from a home office. A true labor of love for backcountry recreation.
